About The Lorehounds
Back in early 2022, David approached John about an audio project about Tolkien and The Rings of Power. Like lightning in a bottle, within a week they had a theme song, show art, and outlines. The Lorehounds published their first few months of podcasts under the Bald Move Network before creating their own independent podcast network.
Since then, The Lorehounds have expanded beyond covering Tolkien. While they keep Tolkien on the mic with their monthly Silmarillion Stories, The Lorehounds have provided full recaps and analysis of a wide variety of shows from franchises such as Star Wars to True Detective.
In 2024, Elysia, already a successful podcaster and network affiliate, joined as a full-fledged Lorehound. The Lorehounds Triarchy will continue being your guides to great TV, video games, books, movies, and more.

Carrie Eps. 2-4 and Carrie 1.0 is Apparently Awful (and VisionQuest is Slow AF)
Even though everybody and their mother has finished reviewing all eight episodes of Carrie, we are on some serious CPT getting to it. But as usual, our takes are worth the wait. We discuss some comparisons to the original Brian de Palma classic (which apparently is horrible and crazy AF). Oh, and we...
Doomed to Die - S02E07 - Rings & Rituals
Sara and Marilyn manage to find ritual even in the ravaging of Eriador. Sara recites Shakespeare, Marilyn finds the best of lines and the worst of lines (for her), and they give Sun Tzu his proper due by sharing what he actually said. They celebrate Celebrimbor’s freedom from illusion, and grieve th...

What the people say about us
Good listen
Nice to have podcasts that discuss the books. I loved the books and I’m still learning more. Thank you for good coverage. I’d love more podcasts.
Fascinating ritual perspectives
Ritual serves as a lens through which the Rings of Power tv show can be viewed, resulting in thought provoking commentary and insightful realizations. The conversation also illuminates connections between the Amazon series and Tolkien’s written corpus which might otherwise have gone unnoticed. Changes are not necessari...

This group of people are hilarious and my kind of folk. It’s like being in a room with family and friends. Each personality and prospective is necessary to make this podcast work. I too wonder about AIRBAGS, POLAR BEARS, and CRABS IN A BARREL.
